	Custom Prefabrication The term “Prefabrication” is often used in a negative context: one element (i.e. a house) is developed and multiplied without considering specific site factors or clients’ individual needs. The house is meant to be a sellable product similar to a car. This rollout attitude of course reduces the building cost but also depersonalizes architecture. Looking into the technology of prefabrication one finds many other advantages aside from the benefits of “copy paste”. These include the direct link between CAD drawing and the production process, as well as protected and highly equipped production facilities which make the highest precision, the best coordination among various crafts, and precise cost forecasts possible. As Architects we know that every building is a unique product, custom made for the needs of the client and for unique environmental factors. Bringing both of these facets together, the latest industrial developments from the prefabrication industry and the sensitive, individual design skills of architects, leads us to “Custom Prefabrication”.
